This
will be the
38th annual running of the of the Canada Day Road Race. It is
made up of two events: a 5 km and a 10 km race.These races start
simultaneously. The date of the race is Tuesday July 1st,
2008; registration
time
is from 9:00
am to 9:30 am. Race start time will be at about
9:40 am at
Memorial
Drive. There is a $20.00
entry fee per registration. Entry forms can be obtained at
the ATC band shell
located next to the Kings Landing
municipal wharf, or you may
On the right
is a partial map of North Bay. The route is highlighted in red. The
race starts on
Memorial Drive, continues on Oak st, goes
around
the over pass and back again onto
Memorial Drive.
This is the 5 K loop. For the 10k, the loop is repeated. There will be
a car from "Carquest" that will travel the route and give
out water to the requesting athletes.
The green dot on the map depicts the approximate location
of the ACT Band Shell. There are
also three
blue dots: these show the approximate location of
the
three water stations that will be maned by volunteers.
There are seven age category's: under 15,
junior
15-19, senior 20-29, veteran
30-39,
sub-master 40-49, master 1 50-59,
master 2 60 & plus.
Immediately at the conclusion of the race, it is very important that
the athletes report to the race recorder and identify
themselves. As soon as the race officials have tabulated the
order in which the
athletes have finished the race, the awards will be given out at the
ACT Band Shell.
The North
Bay Canada Day Festivities will continue
at
12-noon with the singing of O'Canada and the Official Cake
Cutting
ceremonies hosted by the
Association of Canadian Travelers and the Clarion Resort Pinewood
Park.

These items will be handed out
while
supplies
last. The t-shirt sizes are: S, M and XL.. Medals are given
out
to athletes placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd in their respective category.

Volunteer for
the Canada Day Road Race

back bone of
these 2 races. Without volunteers this race
